Heidi is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) who began piano lessons at age eight with Lillian Crockett in California. She earned a B.A. in Piano Performance from Seattle Pacific University, where she was awarded the Bertha Gilbertson Music Scholarship and studied with Dr. Robert Swan.
During college, Heidi triple-majored in Piano Performance & Pedagogy, English Literature, and Philosophy, graduating with honors. She then furthered her piano studies with Dr. Walden Hughes of Northwest Nazarene University.
Heidi has served on the executive board of the Idaho Music Teachers Association and is a member of the Music Teachers National Association. She serves on the Certificate of Achievement Committee for Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association. She is also the Secretary and the Festival Theory Chair for the Nampa Musicale.
She has given presentations at the MTNA National Conference and the Idaho MTA State Conference, and has adjudicated piano festivals and competitions.
In addition to piano, Heidi's experience includes harpsichord, organ, theory, history, and teaching group classes. Heidi's students have become competition winners, college scholarship recipients, music majors, and fellow piano teachers.
